Topax 66

Topax 66 is a product manufactured by Ecolab, widely recognized in the industrial cleaning and disinfection sector, particularly for use in the food and beverage industry. It is a highly effective, liquid, alkaline cleaning and disinfecting agent that contains active chlorine (sodium hypochlorite), making it a powerful solution for removing dirt, grease, and microbiological contaminants such as bacteria, including Salmonella Typhimurium. Its formulation is designed specifically for foam cleaning applications, which means it generates a strong foam to cling to surfaces, ensuring thorough cleaning and sanitization.

This product is intended for professional and industrial use, commonly applied in environments like meat, poultry, fish, fruit processing, and brewery industries. It’s suitable for cleaning the exterior of tanks, filling machines, conveyors, walls, floors, and various equipment surfaces. The presence of active chlorine enhances its ability to break down proteins and tackle tough, baked-on soils, while surfactants in the mix emulsify greasy and fatty residues for easy removal. It’s particularly valued for its rapid action against microorganisms, providing both cleaning and antimicrobial benefits in one step.

Topax 66 is typically available in larger packaging sizes, 25-kilogram containers, making it economical for regular use on large surfaces. Application usually involves a 2-3% solution with a contact time of 10-20 minutes, followed by rinsing with water. It’s compatible with materials like austenitic stainless steel (minimum quality DIN 1.4301/AISE 304), zinc, and ceramic surfaces, though compatibility with other materials should be confirmed with the supplier. Notably, it’s not suitable for CIP (Clean-In-Place) systems due to its strong foaming properties.
