Castrol Syntilo 9902 is a synthetic, water-soluble metalworking coolant developed for grinding and light-duty machining applications. It is suitable for operations such as surface grinding, cylindrical grinding, double disk grinding, centerless grinding, and selected light machining processes.
The product is formulated without mineral oil and without formaldehyde-releasing agents. It forms a clear, stable solution and provides corrosion protection for machine tools and machined parts. Its low-foam performance helps support continuous grinding operation, while its tramp oil rejection allows easier removal of unwanted oil from the coolant surface.
Syntilo 9902 is also designed to settle chips quickly, helping to reduce grinding wheel build-up and maintain a cleaner working environment. It can be used in both large central systems and individual sump machines.
Recommended concentration is typically 4–8% for grinding and 5–8% for general machining. Actual concentration should be adjusted according to machine condition, material, water quality, operating severity, and customer process requirements.
Before use, the latest Product Data Sheet and Safety Data Sheet should be checked. Proper coolant management, concentration control, tramp oil removal, pH monitoring, and safe handling practices are important to achieve stable performance.
